On the afternoon of June 4, 2008, some severe thunderstorms and at least two confirmed tornados hit our area. I barely escaped some serious damage when a tree about 80-90ft high with a trunk of a foot and half to two feet in diameter fell toward the south guys on my 100ft tower. The tree landed fortunately with only the top few leaves touching the guy wire base! See picture of the trunk below.
The European end of my beverage was also pinned to the ground by about a two hundred pound limb that fell 30 ft from another tree.
Overall, however, I was lucky. Both towers and all the beams and wires survived.
